WiiM Pro Audio Streamer

These days, a small device like this might seem like a useless product. A lot of modern speakers have built-in streaming and bluetooth. But I specifically wanted to avoid bluetooth because of compression and I also wanted to decouple my sound system from my phone.

The WiiM Pro basically integrates with every service you might want to use and acts as a central hub for the audio in my home. You can stream audio to it with AirPlay or Chromecast, making the audio go through your local network instead of bluetooth. It can also directly grab music from streaming services like Spotify or Tidal. Combined with other WiiM devices, it can also provide multiroom audio.

The integrated DAC make it also a good option if you don’t want to invest in a full fledged audiophile pipeline with every devices separated.
